Preform Geometry and Fibre Inspection

Pre-process inspection covers repeated geometry, layered edges, fibre condition and batch presentation. Numerical acceptance requires calibrated measurements and signed inspection records.

01

Visible architecture review

Close views make fibre direction, layered edges and surface condition easier to compare. Damage, contamination or disrupted layers should be recorded before release.

02

Dimensional inspection plan

Diameter, thickness, central opening and shape consistency require measured results. Photographs are useful evidence but cannot establish tolerance compliance.

03

Release to the next controlled stage

Accepted preforms should retain batch identity through subsequent treatment. Carbonisation and silicon infiltration require their own controlled process records.

Materials, equipment and inspection checkpoints are organised by manufacturing stage. Dimensions and acceptance values remain tied to controlled production records.

Preform surface and edge texture

Surface and edge detail supports a visual explanation of the preform; material grade and acceptance results require records.

Frequently asked questions

Which manufacturing parameters require controlled production records?+

Material grade, machine settings, tolerances and acceptance results require controlled production records and measured inspection results.

Do the visible preform sizes identify a specific vehicle?+

No. Vehicle application is approved only after VIN, axle, brake hardware and wheel-clearance review.

Are unpictured furnace or silicon-infiltration stages being claimed?+

Carbonisation and silicon infiltration require confirmed process records and are outside this stage.
